Is a pension divided during a divorce?
Yes. In Ontario, pensions earned during the marriage are generally included in the calculation of
each spouse's Net Family Property. The pension is professionally valued as of the valuation date
and may be equalized through a payment or, in some cases, divided directly under applicable
pension legislation.
